We’ve developed, enhanced, and executed a number of programs and initiatives related to associate development. Our goals are to provide you with the mentoring you need, to give you opportunities to learn more about the firm’s practices and capabilities, to increase transparency and communication within the firm, and to provide social outlets so you can get to know your peers better.
Business Development Series. A series designed to help our associates improve their business development skills. Programs have included "Winning the Business," "Speed Networking," and "The Economics of Client Relationships."
"Lunch & Learn" Series. A series designed to provide associates with more information about the firm's diverse practices and capabilities. Over a casual meal, partners from different practice groups give informal presentations about the groups' work and updates as to current matters.
First-Year Orientation Series. Designed to assist you in your transition to the firm, this series offers a forum to discuss important issues relevant to your practice and career growth, while providing opportunities for you to spend time with colleagues across practice groups. Recent programs have included “Communication Skills for New Associates,” “Time Management Skills to Balance Multiple Projects,” and “Practical Aspects of Business Writing.”
Oasis Events. Three afternoons a week, the largest meeting space in the New York office converts into the Oasis coffee bar. In addition to providing a fun and informal environment for associates to catch up and grab complimentary coffee, beverages, and dessert, we also use this venue to host a variety of themed events, including gatherings to celebrate the Super Bowl, the Oscars, the arrival of summer, and more.
